With a mission to promote the welfare of animals through leadership, education and action it’s imperative that we keep our core purpose before us, as we serve our human and animal customers.
Crucial to all non-profit teams is how to retain focus on vision when mired in the day-to-day minutia. Mission Moments help us focus on the dream by sharing the joy, triumph and challenges that a mission evokes – giving us encouragement and renewed energy as we strive for the greater goal. For example, we begin leadership meetings with team-members sharing Mission Moments – those brief glimpses that demonstrated to them our work in action. Here’s a few recent peeks into life embracing moments at WHS:
8-1-11: At a friend’s party this weekend, I met several happy folks who had adopted their pets from us – one couple brought their adorable 4 yr old terrier/Chihuahua, Daphney, adopted last October, and a couple who had adopted their cat, 12 yrears ago. A great mission moment!

Gracie shared her adoption dreams with me, and a few days later she met her new family!

Joan,
It was wonderful news when I heard that Gracie had been adopted! She is a joy and such a delightful and happy dog. I was so glad that you got a photo with her new family!
